Summer Breeze: Your Community's Guide to a Thriving and Efficient Summer
Summer is in full swing! As we all enjoy the longer days and warmer weather, we want to provide some helpful tips and reminders to ensure our communities remain beautiful, safe, and efficient throughout the season. By working together, we can conserve resources, enhance our shared spaces, and prevent costly maintenance issues down the road.
Make Every Drop Count: Summer Water Conservation
With the summer heat comes increased water usage. Conserving water is not only environmentally responsible but also helps manage our community's utility expenses. Here are some simple ways we can all contribute:
- Smart Watering is Key: The most effective time to water lawns and gardens is in the early morning (before 10 a.m.) or later in the evening (after 6 p.m.). This minimizes evaporation and allows water to penetrate deep into the soil.
- Embrace Native Plants: Our community's landscaping includes a variety of native and drought-tolerant plants. These beautiful additions require less water to thrive in our climate. Consider incorporating these into your personal gardening areas where permitted.
- Report Leaks Promptly: A small leak can waste a significant amount of water over time. If you notice a broken sprinkler head in a common area, a constantly running hose, or any other potential water leak, please report it to the management office immediately.
- Indoors, Too: Simple habits like taking shorter showers, running full loads of laundry and dishes, and promptly fixing leaky faucets can make a big difference in our community's overall water consumption.

Thriving Landscapes: Summer Gardening & Lawn Care Tips
A well-maintained landscape enhances the beauty and value of our entire community. Here's how we can keep our green spaces looking their best this summer:
- Proper Mowing Height: For common lawn areas, our landscaping partners will be maintaining a slightly higher mowing height. This encourages deeper root growth, making the grass more resilient to heat and drought.
- The Power of Mulch: You'll notice fresh mulch in our community's garden beds. Mulch is a summer superhero! It helps retain soil moisture, suppresses weed growth, and keeps the soil cool.
- Seasonal Color: Enjoy the vibrant summer annuals that have been planted throughout our common areas. These have been selected for their ability to withstand summer conditions and provide a welcoming pop of color.
- Weed Watch: Our landscaping team works diligently to control weeds in common areas. Homeowners are also encouraged to regularly weed their exclusive use garden beds to maintain a tidy appearance.
Summer Maintenance Checklist: Protecting Our Shared Investment
Summer is a critical time for preventative maintenance in our community. Our maintenance teams and trusted vendors will be completing a number of projects to keep our amenities and common areas in top shape.
Key Summer Maintenance Projects:
- Pool & Spa Care: Pools are a popular summer destination! Community pools and owner pools all require regular maintenance. Regular water quality checks, safety equipment inspections, and deck maintenance are being performed at community pools to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. If your community has a pool, please familiarize yourself with the posted pool rules.
- HVAC System Tune-Ups: The air conditioning systems in our clubhouse and other common buildings will be inspected and serviced to ensure they are running efficiently during the peak heat. Remember to get your homes HVAC system checked as well to avoid break downs in the summer heat.
- Exterior Building & Amenity Inspections: We will be inspecting the exteriors of all association buildings, including siding, paint, and roofing, for any necessary repairs. Playgrounds, grilling areas, and other shared amenities will also be inspected for safety and functionality.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we complete these important summer projects. If you have any questions or notice a maintenance issue, please do not hesitate to contact the management office.
